Review from: Amazon.com Review
| As light and compact as the original, this LED version of the Itty Bitty book light rules out the possibility of a bulb burning out during the crucial last chapter. Its two tiny heat-free LED bulbs provide adequate reading light for a grand total of 100,000 hours--enough to keep you reading through decades of use. Clipped to your paperback or hardcover book, the light shines directly on the pages instead of on your sleeping partner. In addition, it carries its power source inside--four AAA batteries (not included) keep it going for up to 14 continuous hours. You can also purchase an AC adapter separately for steady, more economical use. Designed for easy portability and minimal weight, the light collapses to 4-1/2 inches, extends to 7 inches, and tips the scales at a mere 2-1/2 ounces. The bulbs automatically kick on when you extend the telescoping arm, and the lamp hood revolves for perfect placement. A sturdy carrying case is included for storage and travel. --Emily Bedard

Nice AND Disappointing

I have it positioned on a shelf above my head so I can just turn it on at night, read for a while, and then turn it off. So it hasn't been handled roughly and has barely been moved other than to turn it on and off. I really like the idea of not having to change the batteries and I like the amount of light the 2 bulbs give off from the shelf above my head so I don't have to fumble with the light while I'm reading. But I'm very disappointed that the one bulb doesn't work anymore...especially after investing in the adapter!

A nice alternative

The light emitted spreads enough to be able to read a normal size hardcover (and therefore even better with a paperback) without having to swivel the head...the light will not be the same over the entire area, but seems to be a bit more uniform than the traditional light emits. Also, it is a serious amount of light...more than I anticipated, though not as likely as the traditional light to cause problems for a partner that may be asleep. It has a bluish hue to the light, but I actually find it easy on the eyes.
So far, no problems, and I hope I don't experience any problems with the lights going out. According to specifications, you shouldn't ever need to worry about the lights going out, though some here have mentioned that happening. If you can get along without having to replace bulbs, this light is much more advantageous than the traditional Itty Bitty Book Light. Plus, it is less expensive, which is a bonus. The other one with similar advantage is the fluorescent one, but that one is about twice as expensive, which led me to try this one first.
I do recommend buying this book light, and if you read commonly in bed, get the LED AC adapter, so you can save money not having to buy batteries. Be aware that you can't just use any of the adapters.

Light was ok while it lasted

All this was w/o any traveling or abuse, it pretty much got clipped to book and went from my nightstand beside my bed into my hands, and back when I was done reading for the night.
